WindyMoves was a dance project for children at my local rural primary school, Allendale  Primary, and Priory Special school children, who are based 12 miles away in Hexham.

The project was led by award winning dance/theatre company, Moxie Brawl, who’s artists are disabled and non-disabled working to promote inclusivity and break down perceptions about ‘who can dance’.

Moxie Brawl opened the week with their family friendly performance, Windibops, a humorous production that addresses issues concerning the environment, global warming & how we digest!

Each day, children from Priory school came over to Allendale to work with children from Allendale Primary. Working together, the children explored themes from Winibops to create a dance that was performed to their friends and families on the final day.

The whole week demonstrated just how the arts are accessible to all; there were no ‘better than’s’ and no differences, but a group of children creating and sharing ideas together, dancing together and performing together.
